Positive Lifting is proud to have provided essential crane services for the emergency installation of an 18,000-pound electrical generator at the 60th Precinct in Brooklyn.
With this project being a last-minute emergency, our team responded swiftly and executed the lift within an extremely tight timeframe. Utilizing advanced rigging techniques and a carefully engineered lift plan, we safely hoisted and precisely positioned the generator, ensuring a secure and timely installation despite the urgency of the situation.
This project highlights Positive Lifting’s ability to handle high-stakes, time-sensitive lifting operations, demonstrating our expertise in complex rigging, our state-of-the-art fleet, and our commitment to outstanding customer service. By deploying a tandem pick with 50-ton capacity knuckleboom cranes (Fassi 2150), we showcased the versatility and power of knuckleboom cranes—a crucial advantage in New York City's tight spaces and challenging setups, where traditional mobile cranes may not be feasible.
Given the limited space under the MTA tracks, a mobile crane was not an option. To navigate these constraints, we implemented specialized outrigger cribbing and conducted precise ground testing in collaboration with a geotechnical engineer, ensuring maximum stability and safety throughout the lift.
